For some years now, YouTube, Google's platform, has had to implement certain measures, terms and conditions for content creators, due to the copyright that audiovisual content companies have demanded.
For this reason, recently, the platform decided to implement a tool called Assisted Trimm, which allows cutting videos and material that has been marked for copyright.
In order not to eliminate all the material Chile Mobile Number List worked on and only cut what was marked for copyright, the tool will also help YouTubers not be sanctioned by other companies.
This new tool will show the user which segment of the video in question was reported for infringing Copyright regulations and they will be able to delete it automatically.
Now, reporting companies will have to express exactly where the copyrighted material appears in the video.
“ We are providing more transparency than ever about copyright content, showing the specific description of the copyrighted material that was reported ,” YouTube posted.
This is the first of several copyright-related updates that will occur in 2020, YouTube highlighted.
Remove content with Assisted Trimm
If your video has been claimed by Content ID for the copyright owner's content, there may be restrictions on where the video is available, such as whether you can monetize the video.
Assisted Trimming is a feature on YouTube Studio's video copyright information page that allows you to trim the portion of your video where copyrighted content appears.
The URL, view count, and comments of the video will remain the same after editing.
Important: This feature is only available for videos shorter than 6 hours.
Sign in to YouTube Studio .
Click the Videos tab.
Find the video and claims you want to trim the claimed content from. If your video has multiple claims, you will need to edit each of them individually.
Click the SELECT ACTION drop-down menu.
Click Trim Segment.
You can preview the Trim edit by enabling Cropped Video Preview below the player.
Note: If the section includes info cards, ad breaks, and end screens, they will also be removed.
Click Continue and then Crop to execute the edit.
Assisted Trim
YouTube has been working to address copyright concerns over the past year, as part of an update to YouTube Studio.
Therefore, it launched a new process that will give creators the option to automatically remove the claimed section of their video, freeing their content from such a claim.
“We have added an explicit Trim option directly on the video Copyright details page. You can crop copyrighted content claimed by Content ID in your video which automatically releases the claim. The editing endpoints are preset to where the claimed content appears in the video. We're working on enabling adjustable endpoints so you can trim the part of your video that provides the best experience for the viewer. In the meantime, you can still do it through the YouTube Editor ,” explains Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube.
The auto-trim option isn't ideal, as it will mean cutting out sections of your video, but it provides another easy way to keep your content active, and can be useful for creators on a case-by-case basis.
This is a huge step for YouTube, which makes evident the work it has to evolve and improve its systems in order to keep it in good standing with publishers, advertising partners, and regular users.
